This day-long retreat, called the Day of Mindfulness, is open and appropriate for beginners and veteran meditators. We will experience mindfulness sitting, walking, and loving-kindness meditations, as well as mindful yoga. The meditations will have enough guidance to allow people of all levels of meditation practice to attend. This retreat will be held in silence, allowing one to develop concentration and insight. While there are many benefits of silence and extended practice, it can bring us into contact with the sharper edges of our experience. If you are in the midst of deep emotional difficulties such as post-traumatic stress, untreated addiction or major depression I encourage you to attend a day of mindfulness retreat after you have resolved some of the difficult issues.
